Charity is in our hearts…

and it’s one of of the Grand Principles of Freemasonry.

Unlike many charitable organisation who raise money externally, Freemasons collect from within.  There is no specific requirement from members, only to give what you feel you want to give, without detriment to yourself or your family.

Interestingly, Freemasonry is second only to the National Lottery in terms of actual charitable donations.  We support a great many worthy causes such as the Air ambulance and the Acorns hospices, lifeboats (There is a “Spirit of Friendship” lifeboat), as well as thousands of smaller, but just as deserving local charities.

Because these donations come from within, there is little external notice made of this wonderful work, which is a shame…
